Wine in the Pines 2010

Here are photos from our 4th Annual Wine in the Pines on June 19th, 2010. We had a great group of people attend the event. Mike & Tony at The Mill served up a wonderful variety of appetizers, which left room for the delicious desserts: cheesecake bites, brownies, cream puffs and chocolate-covered strawberries!

Thank you to everyone who attended and all of our generous sponsors, especially Old World Brewery for donating and serving their craft beer! We were able to raise $2,500 for the Child Crisis Center - East Valley.

If you weren't able to make it up to Crown King for the Memorial Day Parade, you can watch it here. As usual, the Parade was full of red, white and blue one-of-a-kind floats made out of quads, tractors, jeeps and more!

To honor those who have served our country, General Store is offering 20% off for active & retired Military. Just show your Military ID to receive discount! Excludes alcohol, tobacco and gas. 

This weekend, Crown King is celebrating Memorial Day with the World's Shortest Parade & kid's carnival. Parade starts Sunday at noon -- Come early to get a good spot on the front porch of the General Store! After the parade, stop by the carnival where the CK Fire Dept and AmeriCorp volunteers have fun games for kids of all ages. The Historical Society's museum will be open this weekend, so be sure to stop by and learn about Crown King's unique history as a mining town.

On Saturday, Rock Road Sweet Stop opens for the summer season. Stop by for delicious Thrifty ice cream, banana splits, sundaes, nachos and hot pretzels - YUM! Free scoop of ice cream with a Military ID

Chili Cook-Off

Today was the Chili Cook-Off at the Saloon and the General Store served Chili Meal Deals on the Main St Patio. Glenn Chamberlin's award-winning chili was served with a tortilla and a drink.

RZR4 Crash on Back Road to Crown King

Just a reminder to slow down, as it's easy to lose control on your bikes, quads and side-by-sides. Have fun out there, be safe and watch out for trees!

HISTORICAL SOCIETY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!

The historical society will soon re-open their museum located on the Main Street Patio (side yard of the General Store). If you would like to sign up to work a shift at the  museum, please contact Margaret Henningsen at 928-632-9199. It's a great opportunity to contribute to CK and meet new friends. It's easy and fun!!
